האישה שבתמונות המדהימות שאנחנו מביאות לכן כאן שכחה שהיא יפה: ליאה, בת 39, עזבה לאחרונה עם התינוק שלה את מערכת היחסים האלימה בה הייתה. הצלמת ריקה ניארי ליהקה אותה כחלק מפרויקט הצילומים החדש שלה – והזכירה לה שוב שהיא בעלת ערך.

ניארי אוספת נשים מקועקעות ומציבה אותן בפוזות של מריה הקדושה, ובצילומים של ליאה היא שילבה גם את בנה התינוק יונק ממנה. מטרת הפרויקט שלה הוא להעצים אמהות ולהזכיר להן שהן גם נשים בפני עצמן: "ליאה היא אמא, אבל היא גם אישה סקסית ועוצמתית. אין סיבה למה שני אלה לא יוכלו לחיות בכפיפה אחת", אמרה הצלמת. "בצילום הזה אפשר לראות אותה כשהיא מניקה, כולה כרות ומסירות לתינוק. הגוף שלה, שהוא עדיין כלי לביטוי עצמי ולמיניות, הפך בנוסף גם למקדש של תזונה ובטחון".

ליאה עצמה הייתה מקווה להעביר מסר בעזרת הצילומים: "הייתי רוצה שכשאנשים יסתכלו בתמונות הם יראו מיד את האהבה והטבעיות שבהנקה ובאמהות. צנזורה של הפטמה זה רעיון מודרני. מריה עצמה מופיעה בציורים כשהיא מניקה בעירום את ישו התינוק, וזה מעולם לא נחשב חושפני או זנותי, רק יפה וטבעי - הצגה של אמהות ואהבה, כמו שזה צריך להיות".

באופן אישי, הפרויקט גרם לליאה לחזור ולהרגיש טוב עם הגוף שלה. "הייתי כל כך ממוקדת בלהיות אמא, והחוויה הזו ממש עזרה לי להרגיש יפה שוב".

My new series THE MOTHER INK edges in and out of the portrayal of the protagonist as a nurturing mother and a brave, empowered, sexual being. Leah, who grew up in a small town surrounded by uniformity and averageness, was inspired by music, books, and stories of rebel women in faraway lands.
