מאז הטבח המחריד במועדון הפולס באורלנדו מאות אנשים הלכו להתקעקע לזכר הנפגעים. אפשר לראות ברשתות החברתיות את הקעקועים, רבים מהם משלבים גרף של דופק (pulse) בשילוב של צבעי הקשת, בחלקם גם מצוין התאריך או מופיע הלוגו של המועדון עצמו.

מבקרים רבים מגיעים לסלוני הקעקועים בסביבת המועדון, רובם היו עובדים לשעבר או בליינים קבועים במועדון. לאנס ווייט, אמן קעקועים העובד ב"קאסט איירון טאטו" לא רחוק מהמועדון, מעיד שזו מסורת ארוכת שנים לעשות קעקוע לזכר אהובים שנפטרו. "אין דרך טובה יותר מלעשות את זה מיד כשזה קורה", הוא אומר, "הרגשות עדיין טריים ואנשים רוצים לזכור".

עד יום שישי האחרון מקעקעים בקאסט-איירון העידו שעיצבו וקיעקעו כמעט 50 עיצובים הקשורים בטרגדיה. "זה כמו תרפיה לחלק מהאנשים", מציין וויט, "זה עוזר להם להתמודד".

בעקבות הביקוש העולה לקעקועים לזכר נפגעי התקיפה, במכון הקעקועים Broken Arrow באורלנדו התחייבו להעביר 50% מן הרווחים על קעקועים אלו לקרן לקורבנות הטבח עד סוף 2016.

This is still in its healing process, but I am delighted to show you my new tattoo. It's a new mark added to my skin to pay tribute to everything that has been going on. The struggles... The fights... The achievements.... The love.... The respect and how one community can just show so much strength. This one pulse in a BIG rainbow heart symbolizes that all you need is one pulse to know that there is still hope. One pulse to know that you will still be able to fight.
