1. השחקנית ופעילת זכויות הלהט"ב אלכסיס ארקט הלכה לעולמה

אלכסיס ארקט, שנולדה בשם רוברט ארקט ב-1969, החלה לשחק בגיל צעיר לצד בני משפחתה, השחקנים ריצ'מונד, דייויד, פטרישיה ורוזאן ארקט. הלילה הלכה לעולמה אחרי מאבק במחלה, כשלצידה בני משפחתה וחבריה, כשהיא מאזינה לשיר "Starman" של דייויד בואי. ארקט השתתפה ב"ספרות זולה" וב"זמר החתונות". בשנת 2007 יצא הסרט התיעודי שעקב אחר תהליך המעבר שלה מגבר לאישה, "אלכסיס ארקט: אח שלי".

Never have I had the honor of knowing and loving a funnier more beautiful soul then my brother/sister Alexis. Thank you all for your kind words of love and support. סרט חדש תפס את תשומת הלב של כולם אמש בפסטיבל הקולנוע בטורונטו. מישל רודריגז מככבת בסרט בתור רוצח שכיר שנאלץ לעבור ניתוח לשינוי מין ולהפוך לאישה. אחרי התהליך, הגיבור יוצא לנקום במי שהכריח אותו לעבור את השינוי. הסרט כבר זוכה לביקורות קטלניות ולתגובות זועמות מצד קהילת הלהט"ב, שחבריה טוענים כי הסרט מציג את המעבר מגבר לאישה כעונש שמוטל על הגיבור.

Awhile back I decided to do some poking around to see what updates I came across concerning the deplorable new movie formerly known as "Tomboy: A Revenger's Tale" starring Michelle Rodriguez (@MRodOfficial). It has now been renamed "(Re)Assignment". Apparently "Tomboy" was to insensitive of a title. Written and directed by Walter Hill (from a story by Denis Hamill), the film centers on an expert assassin who is double-crossed and forced to undergo a gender reassignment surgery (Rodriguez) by a rogue surgeon (Sigourney Weaver), and then sets out for vengeance. This movie is a remake of "Johnny Handsome" with a Gender bending twist. 3. "משחקי הכס" שוב המנצחת הגדולה של פרסי האמי לאמנויות היצירה

הלילה חולקו פרסי האמי למקצועות היצירה, בטקס המשני שנערך בכל שנה רגע לפני טקס האמי המרכזי. בטקס, שנערך מאז 2007, מחלקת האקדמיה האמריקאית לטלוויזיה פרסים למקצועות הטכניים והאמנותיים, בעיקר מאחורי הקלעים, של תעשיית הטלוויזיה. "משחקי הכס", הסדרה שהיא כולה מפגן עוצמה של עיצוב תפאורה ותלבושות, שוב יצאה המנצחת הגדולה של הטקס עם 16 פרסים. הסדרה של ריאן מרפי על המשפט של או.ג'יי סימפסון זכתה ב-12 פרסים והביאה נחת לרשת FX. טקס האמי המרכזי יתקיים בעוד שבוע, ב-18 בספטמבר.
