נבחרת ישראל הדהימה את ברזיל עם 2:3 בדרך לחצי גמר המונדיאליטו. גם במהלך המשחק וגם בסיומו הברזילאים הופתעו מהיכולת הטובה של התכולים, בעיקר במחצית הראשונה הדומיננטית שהציגו.

"ישראל שלטה במשחק מההתחלה. לא מסוכנת, אבל הכדור אצלה ברגל", נכתב ב-"Cabina Sports". "תזהרו מישראל במונדיאל 2030. הם שווים לברזיל", הוסיף הפרשן מרטין בייטר מ-PBC. בסופו של דבר לאונרדו העלה את ברזיל ליתרון, כשישראל לא הצליחה לנצל את הדקות בהן החזיקה בכדור כדי לאיים באופן משמעותי על השער.
"זה מופע אימים של ברזיל. ישראל הרבה יותר טובה", המשיכו. "זה משחק משוגע, מאיפה הנבחרת הזאת הגיעה פתאום?! עוד היה לברזיל מזל עם הפנדלים. ברזיל פשוט לא בכיוון וגמורה מנטלית".
"זה שער מדהים של תורג'מן ומשחק מדהים של ישראל. מי היה מאמין? ישראל טובה מאוד ומובילה בצדק, השער של תורג'מן השלים מאמצים שלמים. הם השתלטו על המשחק", הוסיפו ב"אס".
